US Online Influencer Fined Following Large-Scale E-Bike Gathering on Sydney Harbour Bridge

NSW police have levied a penalty against an American social media personality and served two driving violation citations for reported reckless operation following a swarm of e-bike riders gathered on the famous Sydney landmark during the busy commute on Tuesday.

The Incident: An Illegal Gathering

A gathering of approximately 40 individuals riding e-bikes and motorcycles travelled along the bridge’s main deck, where cycling is prohibited. The assembly then turned around and rode through the city’s CBD and Haymarket.

"There was potential for serious injury or fatalities," stated NSW police assistant commissioner the officer on Wednesday.

Police said they did not immediately pursue the group due to safety concerns but instead located the assembly at a scenic Sydney lookout near the city gardens, at which point they broke up.

Penalties Issued for Content Creator

On Saturday, police announced they had issued the US social media influencer who goes by the influencer, 26, with two violation tickets for careless operation (with no death or previous bodily harm), with a penalty of over five hundred dollars and three demerit points per notice, connected to the bridge incident. They added that the investigation is ongoing.

The personality reportedly has more than 3.4 million subscribers on one platform and more than 1.2 million on Instagram.

Creator's Response

The content creator spoke with a local publication recently after the incident spread rapidly on news sites and social media, saying he was sorry for giving "bike life" a negative image.

"I’ll probably take responsibility. It was among the safest ride-outs I’ve ever seen," he said. "I’m coming here as a guest, so I’m going to abide by the rules and standards of Sydney. When I decided to do a public meeting it did not involve a ride-out, it was just to say hi near the bridge."

"I did not know the area well, I am to blame we ended up on the bridge and I had two choices: either the group completes the entirety of the bridge and turns around, which is a crime. Or we reverse, essentially, before we’re on the bridge. I chose at the time to go back."

Broader Context on Electric Bike Rules

The spate of electric bicycles on roads nationwide has prompted growing calls for regulation. A senior government official, the minister, commented that non-compliant electric bikes were a "total menace on the road."

"Young people have engaged in stupid things on bikes ever since the penny-farthing [but] the injuries that are presenting at our hospital emergency departments are absolutely devastating," he stated. "We’ve got to ensure we stop these things entering the country [and] police are given the powers to take strong action, to take them away, to destroy them, to dispose of them."

The state reported 226 injuries associated with ebikes in 2024. However, in the initial half of 2025, that number jumped to two hundred thirty-three injuries plus four deaths.
