Two Men Charged with Inmate Homicide of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after admitting a string of sex offences among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were taken as evidence.
