Los Merengues attacker Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his response when taken off in Sunday's fiery El Clasico win.
Vinicius was substituted in the second half and displayed his annoyance by going straight down the tunnel.
The Brazilian subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 victory, sought to engage the opposition's Lamine Yamal during contentious final whistle exchanges.
"This day I want to say sorry to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was replaced in the big match," he shared on X.
"Similarly to I have said in person during this morning's session, I wish to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the organization, and the president.
"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I constantly desire to succeed and support my club. My determined nature comes from the affection I have for this institution and everything it symbolizes."
The player signed for Madrid from his former club in the year 2018 for a significant fee and has notched 111 goals in 335 appearances.
But his future in the Madrid is unclear with rumors in the past few months indicating that Los Blancos would consider permitting the 25-year-old leave if they obtained a good proposal.
When he was taken off on Sunday, broadcast footage from network Dazn recorded him saying: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I go, I'm leaving."
In his most recent post on social media, he commented: "I commit to keep battling at all times for the benefit of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the very beginning."
