Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.

Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
