Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
