Canada's skeleton athletes have been absolved of charges that they deliberately manipulated a selection race for the Winter Olympics, thereby denying competitors from other nations a spot to qualify.

A prominent American athlete a five-time Olympian accused the team from Canada of withdrawing four of its six entered athletes from a race in Lake Placid. “The current IBSF Rules permit member nations to pull competitors from an event at any time,” stated the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF).
